Bears End Chip-N-Club Invitational with Three Top-20 Finishers

LINCOLN, Neb. – Missouri State finished the Chip-N-Club Invitational in fifth place out of thirteen schools scoring 922, 58-over par in their first competition of 2013.
Several individual performances helped the Bears over the two-day tournament. Junior Megan Thompson led the Bears shooting 229, 13-over par and finishing the tournament in 17th place, just ahead of teammates Megan Furnish (19th place), Lindsey Eisenreich (20th place), and Chiara Citterio (tied for 21st place).
Missouri State opened the tournament shooting 302 in round one, only behind host and tournament winner University of Nebraska. The Bears finished the tournament scoring 312 in round two and 308 in round three.
The Bears will next play in the ORU Shootout in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 30 and December 1, before hosting the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial in mid-October in Springfield.
