Missouri State ties for 12th at UALR Women's Golf Classic

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – The Missouri State women’s golf team finished in 12th place at the eighth annual UALR Women’s Golf Classic after carding 320-306-333—959 over the two-day tournament.
Missouri State had finished the first two-rounds of competition in sixth place, but the final round 333 brought the Bears into a tie for 12th with hosts Arkansas-Little Rock.
Middle Tennessee won the tournament after scoring 306-311-304—921. Oral Roberts (313-309-309—930) and Wichita State (310-307-314—314) round out the top three in the 17-school field.
Missouri State junior Chiara Citterio led the Bears throughout the tournament with her 76-77-82—235, good for a 16th place tie.
Megan Furnish (80-76-85—241), Megan Thompson (84-75-84—243), and Ariel Tidwell (80-78-86—244) all finished within three strokes of each other for the Bears. Caroline Boone rounded out the MSU competitors with her totals of 90-92-82—264.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s Vanessa Johnson (74-71-74—219) held her lead to win the tournament, finishing two strokes ahead of Central Arkansas’ Sarah Brown (324-303-308—935). The Middle Tennessee pair of Avery George (75-76-73—224) and Allie Knight (77-77-72—226) finished in third and fourth respectively, to help the Blue Raiders finish with the team victory.
The Bears will next compete in Kansas City on April 7-8 at the UMKC Spring Invitational. This will be the final tournament before the Bears head to Springfield, Ill. for the Missouri Valley Conference Championship.
