HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. - The Missouri State women's golf team carded 320-306--626 and sits in sixth place after two rounds at the eighth annual UALR Women's Golf Classic.

Missouri State was one of eleven schools to record a lower second round score than first round, which helped jump the Bears from a tie for ninth to sixth place.

Fellow Missouri Valley Conference member Wichita State (310-307--617) shares a tie for the lead with Middle Tennessee (306-311--617) after Monday's first two rounds. Seventeen schools are competing in Arkansas-Little Rock's tournament.

Junior Chiara Citterio is the lone Bear in the top 10 after the first day. Citterio recorded rounds of 76 and 77 to bring her total to 626.

Megan Furnish (80-76--156), Ariel Tidwell (80-78--158), and Megan Thompson (84-75--159) all improved on their scores in the second round to help the overall Missouri State total.

Caroline Boone recorded 90-92--182 for the Bears.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi's Vanessa Johnson leads the 89-golfer field after carding 71-71--145. Sarah Brown of Central Arkansas (77-73--150) and Elisa Axelsen of South Alabama (73-77--150) sit in a tie for second after two rounds. 



The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with the final round beginning with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start at Diamante Country Club.
