Islanders Classic Rd 2 Results Get Acrobat Reader

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Missouri State women’s golf team claimed a third-place finish on Tuesday (Feb. 26) at the Islanders Classic. The Bears posted a score of 622 for the two-day event.

Missouri State placed two individuals among the competition’s top five. Sophomore Megan Thompson was fourth overall and spearheaded the Bears’ efforts by shooting a one-over-par on the second day of the tournament, ending the outing with a team-best score of 150. Senior Emma Clegg tied for fifth in the individual rankings with a second-day score of 75, and a combined tally of 153.

Meanwhile, freshmen Megan Furnish and Ariel Tidwell posted day-two scores of 79 and 85, respectively. Furnish wrapped up the competition with a 160, while Tidwell finished with a 166. Freshman Lindsey Eisenreich showed incredible improvement upon her first-day score of 91, as she posted a five-over-par score of 78 to earn a total mark of 169.

Tournament champion Lamar won with a combined team score of 616, and Oral Roberts finished three strokes behind in second place (619). The top half of the standings were rounded out by third-place Missouri State (622), fourth-place Sam Houston State (626), fifth-place North Texas (631) and sixth-place Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (640).

Central Arkansas (641), Oklahoma City (642), Houston Baptist (648), Bradley (648), Stephen F. Austin (651) and McLennan Community College (652) placed seventh through 12th, respectively.

Missouri State will return to action at the Rio Verde Invitational on March 8-10 in Rio Verde, Ariz.
