Fall 2008:One of three seniors on the team, Lindsey Wellenstein opened the season with a solid 79-79--158 at the Payne Stewart Memorial to tie for 17th...She averaged 84.62 while playing in all five tournaments, posting three rounds in the 70's...She also shot 79 in the final round of the MVC Preview...She went 81-84-85--250 at Missouri and 82-82-80--244 at Oral Roberts. 2007-08: Wellenstein played in six of the team's 10 tournaments, averaging 83.9 in 17 rounds...Her low round of the season was her first one of the spring, a 77 at the Cuthbert Cup at Kiawah Island, where she also shot 87 for a 164 total...She posted 87-78-82--247 at the Ro Verde Invitational, her best 54-hole score of the season,and shot 78 in the second round at Arkansas-Little Rock. 2006-07: Wellenstein competed in three of the Bears' five tournaments in the fall and four of six in the spring, averaging 81.7 in 19 rounds...She tied for 17th in the season-opening Hawkeye Intercollegiate by shooting 81-79-85--245...She notched a career-best 71 in the final round at the Rio Verde Invitational after shooting 74 the previous day...She posted a 229 total at Rio Verde, the best 54-hole score of her career...Wellenstein ended the fall by placing 28th at the Missouri Valley Conference Preview after recording 82-84--166...She went 91-81-77--249 at the ORU Shootout and 80-83-77--240 to place 26th at the conference tournament in the spring. High School: Lindsey finished second at the state high school tournament as a senior and went on to qualify for the USGA Junior Girls Championship in the summer of 2005...She led her team to victory in the Minnesota/Wisconsin Cup Matches, where she went 2-0 and won the deciding singles match...She won the Minnesota PGA Junior Match Play Championship in 2004 and finished third at the Class A state meet as a junior...Wellenstein also represented her state in the Minnesota/Wisconsin and Minnesota/Manitoba Cup Matches in 2004,posting a 4-1 record...In 2003, she won the Westfield PGA Section qualifer, placed fifth at the state junior tourney and fourth at the Minnesota PGA Junior Tournament of Champions...She also was a two-year letterwinner on the Albany High swimming team. Personal: Lindsey Mary Wellenstein was born August 22, 1987, in Albany, Minnesota...Her academic major is planning...She enjoys outdoor activities,including hiking, camping and climbing...Lindsey is the daughter of Paul and Donna Wellenstein...Herfather played collegiate golf at Houston Baptist and is currently a golf professional.
