St. Louis, Mo. -

Missouri State field hockey goalkeeper Andrea Bain was named the Mid-American Co-Defensive Player the Week the league office announced Tuesday (Nov. 1) afternoon. This was the second time in the sophomore’s career to earn the honor and first time this season.

Bain was a force to be reckoned with in the Bears’ 2-0 victory over Miami (Ohio) on Saturday (Oct. 29). The match was Missouri State’s first shutout of the season and also secured the most wins in a season for the Bears since 2004. Bain stopped Miami (Ohio) in their tracks with six saves in the match and her first career shutout at Missouri State.

The Victoria, British Columbia native followed up her superb performance with seven saves in Missouri State’s win over Ball State on Sunday (Oct. 30). Bain will look to continue her domination at the net into MAC Tournament play this Thursday (Nov. 3) at 1:30 p.m. The Bears face the No. 3 seeded Central Michigan.
