Missouri State freshman forward Holly Scherer was named the Mid-American Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday (Oct. 30). The award is the first of Scherer's career.
Scherer set a single-game career high in goals and points when she knocked in four goals to lead the Bears past the Saint Louis Billikens on Oct. 24. Her incredible performance gave her five goals on the year, and was a single-game high from all Missouri State players this season.
Scherer's four goals and eight points led all MAC players last week, and tied her for the second-most goals and points in a single game among all MAC players this season. In addition, Scherer's performance vaulted her into the MAC's top 10 in points, points per game and game-winning goals.
The Bears closed their season with a 5-11-0 record overall and a 2-3 mark in conference play.
