The Missouri State field hockey team hosts Ohio University and Mid-American Conference regular season champion Kent State this weekend at Plaster Field.
The Bears (6-12, 1-7) play Ohio (7-11, 5-4) on Friday, Oct. 31 at 3 p.m. Earlier in the season, the Bears fell to the Bobcats in Athens, Ohio, 3-1.
Saturday’s match-up features two teams ranked in the top 25 STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Coaches Poll. The Bears host No. 20 Kent State (14-4, 8-1) at 1 p.m.
Missouri State also received 36 votes in this week’s STX/NFHCA Coaches Poll to be tied with University of Michigan for No. 25.
Missouri State was able to get within one goal on Kent State’s home field on Oct. 12, in a 2-1 loss.
Missouri State’s scoring is led by junior Melissa Lantz with 16 goals. Her 22 career goals is one shy of tying for 15th on the career scoring list with Abbey Rolfe (23).
The Bears are then headed to Kent, Ohio, for the MAC Tournament November 6-8. More information on tournament seeds and game times will be made available soon.
