The Missouri State field hockey team (3-9-0, 0-5-0) lost their fifth straight conference match of the season to Miami (Ohio) (5-10-0, 3-3-0) at Oxford, Ohio this Saturday morning 3-2.

"We played a solid first half", said assistant coach Erika Dombkowski. "The beginning of the second (half) we laid back and we took too much time refocusing to play our game."

Junior Reiann Stoute put the Bears on the board first, knocking a shot in from the top of the circle 15 minutes into play. This was Stoute's second goal of the season. Freshman Abbey Heller also saw her second goal of the season as she found the back of the net off a pass from Sarah Bradley. "Bradley was intense", said coach Dombkowski. "Casey Bayliss set up some great scoring opportunities as well, that we need to capitalize on."

Sophomore Laura Tavares had a standout performance at back for the Bears making some solid block tackles. Fellow sophomore Catrina Schmidt also chipped in on defense helping to hold down the back line. Sophomore Andrea Bain played most of the match at goalkeeper for Missouri State and made four saves.
