Background: Katelyn Shaw comes to Missouri State as a three-year letterwinner in field hockey and a four-year letterwinner in basketball at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High. As a senior, Shaw was the team MVP, Atlantic Coast League All Star, and was chosen to the Best of All-Star Game Massachusetts, All-Cape and Island All-Star. In her junior year, she helped her team to the state tournament. She was named best offensive player on her team, Atlantic Coast League All-Star, All Cape and Island All-Star, and athlete of the week from her local newspaper.

Personal: Shaw was born Oct. 6, 1987, in Framingham, Mass. She is the daughter of David Swanecamp, Lisa Shaw, and George Phipps.
