At Missouri State: In her freshman season, Katie Schwartz played in all 19 matches, including 18 starts. She scored one goal in her first season as a Bear against Ball State. She posted five shots and four on goal.

Background: Schwartz joined Missouri State after being a four-year letterwinner in field hockey at North Allegheny. She was named first team all-conference her junior and senior years. As a senior, she led her team to a conference championship and to the first round of state playoffs. In her junior season, she helped lead the Tigers to their longest playoff run in school history.

Personal: Schwartz was born June 19, 1987, in Pittsburgh, Pa. She is daughter of Dan and Barb Schwartz.
