At Missouri State: Background: Johnson joined the Bears after being a four-year letterwinner in field hockey, lacrosse and basketball during her career with the Lafayette Lancers. In her four years at Lafayette, Johnson led her field hockey team to a record of 79-18-2 and a four-year conference mark of 34-0. As a senior, Johnson was in the top 10 for assists in the state of Missouri. She was also named first team all-metro, all-conference, team captain, defensive MVP, was nominated for NFHCA Academic All-American, and led the Lancers to the state semifinals her senior year. In her junior year, Johnson was named second team all-metro, first team all-conference, team captain and defensive MVP. As a freshman, she was named the Rookie of the Year by coach Kelly Yates, a member of the Missouri State University Athletics Hall of Fame.Personal: Johnson was born Nov. 11, 1986, in St. Louis, Mo. She is the daughter of Phillip and Linda Johnson. |
