At Missouri State: As a senior, Sandy Fulkerson will be a solid defender in the backfield for the Bears. In 16 games for the Bears last year, Fulkerson led theteam with seven defensive saves. She also had one point for the season with an assist off a corner against No.4 Iowa on Sept. 9. Fulkerson was named to the 2007 ZAG/NFHCADivision I National Academic Squad for a second year in a row,along with sixof her teammates.In 2006, Fulkerson started all 18 of the Bears' matches and recorded one assist. She was also named to the 2006 NFHCA Divison I National Academic Squad. In her freshman season with the Bears, Fulkerson played in 18 matches with nine starts.

Background: Fulkerson came to the Bears from North Allegheny High in Wexford, Pa., where she lettered in field hockey and lacrosse. She was named team captain and selected to the future elite team her senior year. She helped her team win a conference championship and make it to the first round of the state playoffs in both her junior and senior years. In her junior year, she was named first team all-conference and team MVP.

Personal: Fulkerson was born on March 27, 1987, in Pittsburgh, Pa. She is the daughter of William and Karen Fulkerson.
