St. LOUIS, Mo. -- Missouri State sophomore guard Kenzie Williams was honored as the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season Monday (Dec. 16), it was announced by the league office.
Williams scored a career-high 32 points Sunday against Lamar while stuffing the stat sheet with six rebounds, six assists and three steals as well. The sophomore either scored or assisted on 45 of MSU’s 87 points in the win, and shot 9-for-20 overall, 6-for-12 on 3-pointers and 8-for-10 from the foul line.
The Mt. Vernon, Mo., native has now scored 151 points in the season’s first eight games, trailing only Tahnee Balerio (155 in 2006-07) and Casey Garrison (153 in 2011-12) through as many contests over the last eight seasons.
Williams and the Lady Bears host Missouri on Thursday at 7:05 p.m. at JQH Arena.
