With Missouri State’s first academic semester and finals week now behind them, the Lady Bears (5-3, 0-0 MVC) turn their focus to basketball this Saturday at 2:05 p.m. when Arkansas State (2-6, 1-1 Sun Belt) pays a visit to JQH Arena.
As the non-conference schedule winds down with just four games remaining before the Missouri Valley Conference opener Jan. 3, the Lady Bears look to secure a winning non-league record for the fourth consecutive season after going 10-4, 10-4 and 9-4 the last three years.
Missouri State fans are encouraged to head to University Plaza Hotel following the game for a free fan party held in conjunction with the pregame gathering before the MSU men’s game Saturday evening.
Missouri State holds a 9-7 series lead over Arkansas State and is playing the Red Wolves for an eighth consecutive season.
The Lady Bears are 6-2 against ASU in Springfield and have won four straight in the series, including a 77-68 road victory last year.
Missouri State won the last two match-ups in Springfield, 58-47 in 2010 and 61-52 in 2008 in the first women’s game in JQH Arena.
