The Missouri State Lady Bears (1-2, 0-0 MVC) hit the road again this week as they head to Fayetteville for a 7 p.m. Friday game at Arkansas. The Razorbacks have been impressive in a 4-0 start with a 34.5-point average margin of victory in four home wins.
Friday's game will mark Kellie Harper's 300th as a head coach, and is Missouri State's third in a stretch of eight consecutive contests against teams that played in either the NCAA Tournament, WNIT or Women's Basketball Invitational in 2013.
After Friday, the Lady Bears host Quinnipiac at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 26, with more than 1,000 area students already committed to attend for Elementary Day.
Missouri State finishes up its road-heavy early schedule Dec. 3 and 5 at Louisville and Eastern Kentucky before a three-game homestand at JQH Arena from Dec. 15-21.
Arkansas holds a 17-6 series lead over Missouri State, including a 9-2 mark in Fayetteville. The teams have met just once since 2002, a 65-64 Razorback victory in a 2011 WNIT second round match-up in Springfield.
Arkansas is 4-0 on the season and has defeated Sam Houston State, Oral Roberts, Furman and Middle Tennessee by an average of 34.5 points per game.
Jessica Jackson has led the way thus far for the Razorbacks, averaging 17.8 points on 49 percent shooting as one of three Arkansas players scoring in double figures.
As a team, the Razorbacks average 78 points and allow 43.5, limiting the opposition to 33.9 percent shooting. Arkansas shoots 45.5 percent overall, 42.3 percent on 3-pointers and 64.6 percent from the foul line.
