The Missouri State Lady Bears (1-1, 0-0 MVC) are fresh off an exciting victory over UALR and look to take that momentum to Indianapolis on Sunday for a 1 p.m. (Central) contest at IUPUI (1-1).
Sunday’s game will be the second of eight consecutive contests against teams that played in either the NCAA Tournament, WNIT or Women’s Basketball Invitational in 2013. In fact, each of MSU’s first nine opponents this season finished .500 or better last year, and six are picked to finish third or better in their respective conferences this year.
After Sunday, the Lady Bears visit Arkansas on Nov. 22 before playing a noon game on Tuesday, Nov. 26 against Quinnipiac for Elementary Day.
The Lady Bears and IUPUI will meet for the first time on Sunday. Missouri State is 24-12 all-time against current Summit League members.
IUPUI is 1-1 on the season with an 80-58 victory over Belmont and 76-56 loss to 22nd-ranked Purdue. The Jaguars are picked to finish second in The Summit League this season and garnered a trio of first-place votes in the preseason poll after going 20-12 and playing in the WNIT last season. Senior guard DeAirra Voss is a preseason first-team all-Summit League selection and one of seven Jaguars to average at least seven points through two games.
As a team, IUPUI shoots 46.4 percent overall, 39.3 percent from the 3-point arc and 63.9 percent from the foul line.
