The Missouri State Lady Bears (0-1, 0-0 MVC) play their first road game of the season Thursday evening at 7 p.m. when they pay a visit to the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans (1-0). The game will be televised in Springfield on the Ozarks CW, the first of eight telecasts this season on that station and KY3.
The Lady Bears are in the midst of a busy first 10 days of the season as they lost a hard fought 74-71 decision to No. 22 Oklahoma State on Tuesday and travel to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, for the Hardwood Tournament of Hope Nov. 20-22.
Missouri State is 8-1 all-time against Arkansas-Little Rock, with the home team winning all nine meetings. The Lady Bears and Trojans have met seven times in the 2000s, with MSU going 6-1 with an average margin of victory of 29 points in those six wins.
Coach Milleson is 2-1 against the Trojans, losing 68-55 in 2007 and winning 53-49 in 2008 and 73-50 last season.
UALR is the preseason pick to win the Sun Belt’s West Division and returns three starters from last season’s club that went 20-13 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
The Trojans began their season Nov. 12 with a 73-64 road victory against Tulsa. UALR overcame 28 turnovers thanks to 33 points from sophomore guard Taylor Gault to secure the win.
