SPRINGFIELD – The 17-game Bears Television Network package for the 2012-13 men’s and women’s basketball seasons has been completed, the University announced Friday (Nov. 9).
KY3, Inc., of Springfield is the flagship of the network, which also includes Time Warner Metro Sports in Kansas City and Charter Cable in St. Louis. The package will feature nine men’s games and eight women’s games on local NBC affiliate KY-3, as well as KCZ, The Ozarks CW.
Missouri State and its partner Nelligan Sports Marketing are in the third year of a four-year partnership with KY3, Inc. All 17 games are also distributed on the Missouri State Television Network, which currently includes Charter Cable in St. Louis and Metro Sports in Kansas City.
Men’s games confirmed on the Bears Television Network are: Dec. 5 at Tulsa (7 p.m.), Dec. 18 at Alabama A&M (7 p.m.), Dec. 22 at New Mexico State (8 p.m.), Jan. 2 at Evansville (7 p.m.), Jan. 5 at Drake (7 p.m.), Jan. 16 at Indiana State (6 p.m.), Jan. 19 at Bradley (1 p.m.), Feb. 16 at Southern Illinois (7 p.m.) and Feb. 27 at Illinois State (7 p.m.).
The Missouri State women will also appear on KY3 and the Ozarks CW on the following dates: Nov. 15 at Arkansas-Little Rock (7 p.m.). Dec. 6 at Missouri (7 p.m.), Jan. 10 at UNI (7 p.m.), Jan. 27 at Southern Illinois (1 p.m.), Feb. 1 vs, Indiana State (7:05 p.m.), Feb. 10 vs. UNI (2:05 p.m.), Feb. 23 vs. Evansville (7:05 p.m.) and March 9 vs. Wichita State (2:05 p.m.).
Calling the action for the Bears and Lady Bears this season will be local broadcasting legend Ned Reynolds of KY3 sports. Former Missouri State standout Kelby Stuckey will serve as the color commentator for the men’s games, and KY3, Inc. executive sports producer Mike Scott will do color commentary for the Lady Bears.
The KY3 Inc. agreement also includes the production of the weekly Missouri State Basketball Highlights Show with coach Paul Lusk and the Lady Bear Basketball Highlights with coach Nyla Milleson, which will begin airing Mondays starting on Dec 3.
