Lady Bears Tip Off Exhibition Season Sunday Against Truman State

SPRINGFIELD -- The Missouri State women’s basketball team will make its 2012-13 debut Sunday at 2:05 p.m. with an exhibition contest against Truman State at JQH Arena.

The Lady Bears and Truman State have met 10 times previously, all between 1974 and 1982, with Missouri State holding a 7-3 series lead. Truman head coach Michael Smith is in his fifth season at the school, compiling a 48-60 overall record while increasing the team’s win total each year.

The Bulldogs return three starters from a team that went 17-10 last season and finished 11-9 in the MIAA.

The Lady Bears continue exhibition play Nov. 8 at 7:05 p.m. with Southwest Baptist and kick off the regular season by hosting 23rd-ranked Oklahoma State at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
