MSU Preseason Fan Events Set for October
Sept. 28, 2012
SPRINGFIELD – Basketball season is just around the corner, and Missouri State University has planned a pair of preseason events in October to get fans ready for the upcoming men's and women's basketball seasons.
Both MSU teams will take to the hardwood on Saturday, Oct. 13, for a Twilight Tipoff event at JQH Arena that evening. The event will begin with a public Lady Bears' workout, three-point contest and abbreviated intrasquad scrimmage at 5 p.m. The Bears will then take the floor around 6 p.m., for a dunking demonstration, workout and scrimmage. The event will also include fan contests, performances by the cheerleaders and Sugar Bears and postgame autographs with team posters.
Admission for the Twilight Tipoff is free and open to Bears and Lady Bears fans of all ages. Basic arena amenities and concessions will be available throughout the evening.
Then, on Thursday, Oct. 18, area basketball fans will get a chance to spend a memorable evening with the Bears and Lady Bears at JQH Arena with the inaugural Missouri State Basketball Preview & Auction.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m., with a social hour, complimentary drinks and a silent auction. A buffet dinner will start at 6:30 p.m., followed by season previews from Bears head coach Paul Lusk and Lady Bears head coach Nyla Milleson. The evening will conclude with a live auction that begins around 7:45 p.m. and promises to be as exciting as a March buzzer beater.
Tickets for the MSU Basketball Preview & Auction -- which includes auction registration, entertainment, dinner and drinks -- are $30 and are available in advance by calling (417) 836-4143. Reserved tables are also available.
Bears and Lady Bears season ticket applications for the 2012-13 season are being accepted now by calling (417) 836-7678 or in person at the Chevy Pickup Window at JQH Arena.
