June 30, 2014

After several members of the Missouri State women's basketball program and another from the football staff were doused with cold water for a good cause last Tuesday, more followed on Monday afternoon. Initially, head coach Kellie Harper along with assistants Jon Harper and Jennifer Sullivan, sophomore forward Rachel Swartz and head football coach Terry Allen participated in the #Chillin4Charity challenge in front of JQH Arena. As the callouts continued, assistant coach Jackie Stiles, Senior Associate Director of Athletics/SWA Casey Hunt, and Director of Basketball Operations Scott Moore also were doused in water for the cause.

The #Chillin4Charity challenge is a fundraiser for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, named after the long-time North Carolina State women's basketball coach. Coaches and student-athletes across the nation are challenging each other to participate or make a donation to the fund.

Check out the video below to watch the event, see who each participant challenged, and learn more about the rules and the Kay Yow Fund.
