Lady Bears Announce 2011 Summer Basketball Camp Slate
 

 

 

Missouri State University is pleased to announce its 2011 Nyla Milleson Lady Bear Basketball Camp schedule. Both team and individual camps will be offered for girls ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade.


Middle School Shootout

June 7-9

(Middle School and AAU Teams)

Each team will be guaranteed a minimum of seven games. Games will start after 4 p.m. each night. This is a great opportunity for coaches and players to work together as they build for next season. To reserve your team fill out the registration form and send a $50 non-refundable deposit per team by June 1.


First Day Check In: 4 p.m.

Camp Cost: Residential-$400 per team

 

Varsity/JV Shootout

June 10-12

(Varsity, JV, and AAU Teams)

These highly competitive sessions are for high school age players. Each school must have a minimum of 8 players (we recommend 10) and a member of the high school basketball staff who will be coaching the team throughout the week. The coach needs to be in charge of the actions of his/her players on and off the court. Each team will play between 7-9 games with a tournament. This is a great opportunity for coaches and players to work together as they build for the next season. To reserve your team fill out the registration form and send a $200 non-refundable deposit per team by June 1.

 

First Day Check In: 11 a.m. (residential); Noon (commuter)

Coaches Meeting: 12:30 p.m.

Last Day Check Out: 10 a.m.-Noon

Camp Cost: Residential-$225 per player (meals and lodging included); Commuter-$800 per team (no meals or lodging)

 

Elite Camp

June 19-21

The Elite Camp is designed to focus on both offensive and defensive skill development, emphasizing shooting technique, ball handling skills, passing, screening and position work. Participants will be required to attend an NCAA educational session.


First Day Check In: 4 p.m. (residential)/4:30 p.m. (commuter)

Last Day Check Out: Noon

Camp Cost: Residential-$225 (meals and lodging included); Commuter-$200 (lunch and dinner only)

Fundamental Day Camp

June 21-24

(Grades K-8)

No physical required

Each day is filled with instruction based on the very basics of fundamentals with emphasis on becoming a better overall player. Special attention will be given to shooting and footwork, specific offensive fundamentals as well as the development of self-confidence, teamwork and motivation. Special awards will be given daily and at the conclusion of the camp. Campers in Grades 3-8 must bring their own lunch. The camp is geared for a high energy setting, where the kids stay active and enthused while learning fundamentals. Campers may attend either one of the camps or both.

 

Fundamental Day Camp - June 21-24

Grades K-2 (9 a.m.- noon)

Grades 3-8 (9 a.m.- 4 p.m.)

Camp Cost: Grades K-2-$75; Grades 3-8-$150

 

Shooting Camp

June 27

(Grades 3-12)

This camp is for players entering grades 3-12. Shooting Camp places emphasis on offensive skill development. Shooting form and technique, footwork, progressions to get open, and ballhandling moves will be taught to help make you an effective offensive threat.

 

Check In: 8:30 a.m.

Check Out: 4 p.m.

Camp Cost: $100 (bring your own lunch)


Young Players Camp

June 27-29

(Grades 3-8)

No physical required

An outstanding camp for those just learning the game and those already playing on teams. Young Players Camp teaches fundamental skills and introduces basic game strategy. Players take part in team play and competitive games as well as learning fundamental skill development, offensive techniques, and defensive positioning.

 

First Day Check In: 4:30 p.m. (residential); 5 p.m. (commuter)

Last Day Check Out: Noon

Camp Cost: Residential-$225 (meals and lodging included); Commuter-$200 (lunch and dinner only)

 


Training Sessions

June 6, 13, 20, 27

(Grades 3-8)

No physical required

Four-week series of instructional sessions focusing on fundamental skill development, offensive techniques, defensive positioning and shooting/footwork fundamentals. Groups are limited to 15 players. 

 

Groups will be assigned 60 minute sessions each week between 6 and 9 p.m.

Camp Cost: $100 per camper
