SPRINGFIELD -- Missouri State University announced this week that Friday's women's basketball game against Wichita State has been designated as a Maroon Out event with all fans being encouraged to wear their maroon attire for the regionally-televised game on MVC TV Network affiliates, including Fox Sports Midwest in the Springfield area.

The Lady Bears (15-6, 8-3 MVC) and Shockers (15-7, 9-2) are slated to tip off at 7 p.m. Friday at JQH Arena. Maroon gameday gear can be purchased at the BearWear Team Store at JQH Arena, at the MSU Bookstore or various BearWear outlets.

All fans are invited to a free pregame pep rally at University Plaza (333 John Q. Hammons Parkway, Springfield). The event will begin at 5 p.m. and will feature free food, soft drinks, maroon t-shirts, music, activities for kids and raffles. Missouri State Assistant Coach Carly Stubblefield, cheerleaders, Sugar Bears, mascots and band will all make appearances at the party.

Friday is Missouri State's entry in the NCAA's Pack the House Challenge contest, part of the NCAA's national effort aimed at increasing attendance and awareness of women's basketball.

The game is also Kid-Mania Night at JQH Arena. Kid-friendly activities include lining the court during pre-game introductions, a junior announcer for starting lineups and a junior emcee for an in-game contest. There will also be face painting and inflatables on the concourse before the game.

Additionally, maroon rally towels will given away to the first 700 fans in attendance.

Tickets for Friday's game can be purchased at the Chevy Pickup Window at JQH Arena, on-line at www.MissouriStateTix.com or by calling (417) 836-7678. Children 12 and under are always free. Check the Missouri State Athletics Twitter and Facebook pages for a discounted ticket voucher for the game.
