MSU Hosts Sports Fair Recognizing National Girls and Women in Sports Day
In recognition of National Girls and Women in Sports Day, individuals in grades kindergarten through eighth are all invited to participate in the fourth Annual Interactive Sports Fair at Missouri State University. The event will be held February 10, 2007, at 12:30 p.m. in the West Court of Hammons Student Center prior to the Lady Bears basketball game against Illinois State at 2:05 p.m. Student-athletes and coaches from all MSU athletic programs including field hockey, golf, soccer, football and volleyball will host interactive skill stations to help fans learn more about their sport.
This event is one of more than a 1,000 events taking place all over the country for National Girls and Women in Sports Day. Congress has proclaimed this national day each year since 1987. It recognizes the progress of girls and women in sports and fitness activities can bring to the lives of all girls and women. Flyers will be sent to all Springfield area schools. Flyers must be presented at the ticket office in Hammons Student Center to receive tickets for the game and attend the event. Admittance is free for participants K-8 and $4.50 for adults and family members of participants. It is recommended picking up the tickets no later than February 1, 2007.
