The Missouri State Lady Bears (8-4, 0-0 MVC) begin the Missouri Valley Conference season Thursday at 7:05 p.m. at Wichita State in a battle of two teams predicted to finish in the top half of the league this season.
Thursday's matchup will be a clash of styles as MSU's potent offense and its 72.4 points per game goes against a Shocker defense that allows just 51 points per contest.
Missouri State plays its 21st Missouri Valley Conference opener Thursday with a 14-6 record in the previous 20. Coach Milleson is 3-2 in Valley openers after winning the last three.
The Lady Bears begin the conference season with three road games before hosting Drake on Jan. 19 in the first conference home game.
Missouri State 45-27 all-time against Wichita State, including a 16-16 mark in Wichita.
The Shockers have turned the tide of late, however, going 12-4 in the last 16 meetings and winning the last seven in Wichita dating to MSU's last win on Jan. 30, 2005.
