Director of Basketball Operations
Missouri State, 2006
Head coach Nyla Milleson named Steve Yang as Director of Basketball Operations on June 1, 2012.
As director of operations, Yang oversees Missouri State's film exchange and equipment operations, while coordinating team travel arrangements and assisting with Lady Bear basketball camp operations.
"We're very pleased to have Steve join the Lady Bear family," Milleson said at the time of Yang's hire. "He has gained valuable experience under a veteran head coach in Steve Jenkins at Evangel, and his organization and attention to detail will be a valuable asset in this position during the school year as well as with our camps in the summer months."
Yang came to Missouri State after four seasons as an assistant coach and video coordinator for the men's basketball team at Evangel University in Springfield. Prior to Evangel, Yang served as a assistant at McCook Community College in Nebraska during the 2007-08 season, and as the Varsity, JV and Junior High head coach at Miami High School in Amoret, Mo., in 2006-07.
Yang has served as an instructor at basketball camps at Missouri State, Kansas, Marquette, Wisconsin, Evangel, Minnesota and with Brandon Jennings of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Originally from Tulsa, Okla., Yang earned his Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Leisure Studies from Missouri State in 2006, and followed that up with a Master of Science in Administrative Studies and Sports Management from MSU in 2010.
