The Missouri Valley Conference's top newcomer a year ago, Maggie Dwyer will be the focal point of the Lady Bear offense in 2008-09. A 6-1 fifth-year senior, Dwyer has the ability to play both inside and on the perimeter and is Missouri State's top returning rebounder and the No. 2 returning scorer in the Valley.


Dwyer made an immediate impact in her first year with the Lady Bears, averaging a team-high 13.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per contest en route to earning MVC Newcomer of the Year and second-team all-conference honors...Scored 16 points, connecting on 3-of-6 from three-point range and 5-of-6 free-throw attempts in MSU's 92-55 season-opening loss at #22 Texas (11/11)...Led the Lady Bears with three steals and three assists in their 78-68 loss to Green Bay (11/17)...Posted her second double-digit scoring effort of the season at Arkansas State (11/20) with a 10-point performance in a 74-54 loss...Led the Lady Bears in scoring with 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting in an 80-48 loss at #17 DePaul (12/2)...Recorded her first double-double as a Lady Bear with a 12-point, 10-rebound effort in MSU's 72-61 win over Tulsa (12/4)...Led MSU with 18 points in the Lady Bears' 69-51 loss to Saint Louis (12/7)...Named Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week (12/10) after averaging 15.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in two games vs. Tulsa and SLU...Scored 23 points and matched a career high with three steals in a 96-79 loss at Oral Roberts (12/15)...Went 10-of-21 from the field, including 4-of-10 from three-point range, and scored a career-high 29 points in MSU's 97-89 win over Canisius (12/21) en route to picking up her second MVC Newcomer of the Week honor (12/26)...Notched her second double-double of the year, scoring 10 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the Lady Bears' loss at Western Kentucky (12/29)...Posted her third double-digit rebound effort of the year and her second in-a-row with a 10-board night in MSU's 72-42 loss at Drake (1/4)...Led the Lady Bears with 17 points to go along with six rebounds and career highs of three steals and one block in a 76-65 win over Evansville (1/10)...Scored 10 of her 16 points in the second half of a 77-67 win over Southern Illinois (1/12), helping the Lady Bears overcome a 10-point deficit en route to earning her third MVC Newcomer of the Week honor...Scored 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting in MSU's 78-55 victory at UNI (1/17)...Tallied 12 of her game-high 19 points in the second half of the Lady Bears' 70-55 win at Bradley (1/19)...Earned her fourth MVC Newcomer of the Week honor (1/21)...Notched her 16th double-digit scoring night of the season with a 16-point effort to lead MSU in a 73-69 loss at Wichita State (2.2)...Went 9-of-10 from the foul line in scoring a team-high 18 points in a 78-58 win at Southern Illinois (2/8)...Led MSU with 16 points in an 82-74 loss at Evansville (2/10), as well as in a 73-66 home win over Bradley (2/14) when she totaled 20 points...Recorded her 23rd double figure scoring effort of the season with a 14-point game against Creighton (3/14) in the quarterfinal round of the State Farm MVC Tournament.


Dwyer sat out the 2006-07 season per NCAA transfer regulations after joining the Missouri State program in August.


Dwyer saw action in 33 games for Michigan State as a sophomore in 2005-06, including five starts...Dished out a career-best five assists to go along with eight points and two three-pointers against Western Carolina (11/20)...Collected three boards at Wisconsin (1/12) in her first start of the year before turning in the first of two solid performances against Illinois (1/19), when she grabbed a career-high nine rebounds, scored six points and handed out four assists to go along with a block and a steal...In a win over No. 11 Minnesota, Dwyer posted a five-point, three-rebound effort (2/9)...As a freshman Dwyer played in 27 games, averaging just over eight minutes a contest as the Spartans advanced to the national championship game before falling to Baylor...Hit a pair of three-pointers in Michigan State's first-round NCAA Tournament game against Alcorn State and scored a career-high nine points in her first collegiate start at No. 3 Notre Dame (12/2)...Was four-year all-conference and Muskegon Chronicle all-area selection, earning Class A All-State first team recognition as a senior...Garnered a McDonald's All-America nomination and finished third in the Michigan Miss Basketball voting as a senior after averaging 16.1 points, 13.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 4.2 steals per game...Also earned all-state honors in track and field, capturing the state title in the discus as a senior.


Dwyer is the daughter of Paul and Claudy Dwyer...Has two brothers, Paul and Mike...Plans to pursue a career as a personal trainer...Will turn 23 during the season...Will graduate in December with her bachelor's degree.
