Missouri State women's soccer senior goalkeeper Jessica Teahan and men's soccer senior forward Heath Melugin were named to National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) all-region teams, the organization announced this week. Teahan was an All-Great Lakes second team selection and Melugin received All-Midwest third team honors.

Teahan was named the MVC Goalkeeper of the Year and is a three-time All-MVC first team goalkeeper (2009, 2010, 2011). She tied for the league lead with seven shutouts in 2011, was a three-time MVC Defensive Player of the Week (9/21/09, 10/12/09, 9/13/11), earned MVC Goalkeeper of the Week three-consecutive weeks from 9/27/11 through 10/11/11 and was named MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Week on 10/26/11, 10/5/11 and 9/14/11. She holds the best career goals against average (0.96) in school history.

She was named to her third consecutive Academic All-MVC first team this season and was selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-District VI second team. In 2010, she was a CoSIDA Academic All-District VII second team and MVC All-Tournament team member.

Melugin was a 2011 All-MVC first team honoree leading the Bears in points, goals, shots, shots on goal and game-winners on the season. He finished his career ranked fifth all-time at MSU in game-winners (8), seventh in goals (22) and eighth in points (53). Melugin earned MVC Offensive Player of the Week honors following his game-winning goal at Drake in a double overtime win that captured a share of the MVC regular-season title and gave MSU the No. 1 seed for the conference championship in Omaha, Neb. He was named to the All-Tournament Team and was also selected as the 2011 MVC Elite 18 Award winner, honoring the highest performer in both athletics and academics in the championship match.

Melugin was named to the Capital One Academic All-America® Men's Soccer Division I first team, becoming just the second MSU men's soccer player to earn first-team accolades. He was also named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete first team for the third consecutive year and was named Prairie Farms-MVC Student Athlete of the Week twice this season.
