Missouri State Loses 4-2 Decision to Eastern Illinois



The Missouri State men’s soccer team allowed three first half goals en route to a 4-2 Missouri Valley Conference loss at Eastern Illinois. The Bears are now 4-8-2 overall and 0-1-1 in MVC action.

MSU junior forward Henry Lawrence III scored his second goal of the season unassited in the 19th minute to give the Bears an early 1-0 lead. However, Eastern Illinois responded with goals in the 25th, 29th and 42nd minutes repectively to forge a 3-1 halftime lead.

Sophomore defender Ryan Hennessey found the back of the net in the 49th minute for the Bears’ second goal. Lawrence III assisted on the play, accounting for his team-high eighth point of the season.

Missouri State will host MVC defending regular season co-champion Bradley, Saturday, at Plaster Field.
