SPRINGFIELD, MO – The Missouri State men’s soccer team (5-3-1) hosts Belmont (4-3-2) in a rematch of a game played in September.

The Bears traveled to Nashville early in the season, only to come up short in an overtime loss to Belmont 1-0.

Missouri State has been through a lot since that game, including winning the Missouri Valley Conference opener on Saturday against Loyola Chicago.

Belmont comes in with a two match unbeaten streak, with a road win against Jacksonville and a road draw with Longwood.

The Bruins goalkeeper Grayson Rector has three shutouts on the season and holds a 1.17 goals against average.

Missouri State recorded another clean sheet on Saturday. The Bears’ fourth shutout in nine games leads the conference in shutout percentage (44.4%). Missouri State’s team goals against average (0.62), all recorded by goalkeeper Trevor Spangenberg, ranks first in the Valley and 17th in the nation.

Both the Bears and the Bruins are identical in shots taken (99), but Belmont has scored eleven goals on the year, two more than Missouri State.

Kickoff is scheduled for Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Plaster Field. The game can be followed on Gametracker, as well as watched streaming live by Missouri State.

The Bears return to conference competition on Saturday against Drake in Des Moines.
