Men's Soccer Falls in Final Night of Bradley Tournament
The Bulldogs (7-3-2) pressured the Bears offensively in the first period by outshooting the Bears 14-0. The Bulldogs broke through a tough Bears’ defense three minutes before the half on a corner kick by Mutumba Ssemagulu. Lwazi Maziya received the corner kick and hit Rogers Atugonza with a touch pass to break down the Bears’ defense and break the 0-0 tie.
The Bears got their offense going in the second half but were still outshot by the Bulldogs 10-7. The Bulldogs’ defense stood tall against an onslaught of Bears’ shots to hold on for the 1-0 win.
MSU’s offensive attack was led by Jordan Barnes and Justin Alford who both had two shots apiece. Riggs led the stingy Bears’ defense with 11 saves to push his season total to 55.
