At Missouri State: Sabic will vie for more starts as he has become a reliable midfielder for the Bears. 2009: Sabic played in all 19 matches receiving the starting nod on eight occasions. The second-year letterwinner tallied assists in the Bears victories at SMU (9/27) and against Oral Roberts (10/14). He scored his only goal of the season against Drake on Nov. 1. His 24 shots taken were the fourth-most on the team in 2009. 2008: Edin Sabic appeared in eight games, including his lone start in midfield against Tulsa (11/7). He tallied three shots on the season: two against Saint Louis (9/27) and one against Tulsa (11/7). Background: Sabic came to the Bears after starting four years at midfield for Cathedral Preparatory. He was named to the all-state and all-Region II teams in 2007. As team captain, Sabic helped his team to District 10 and Region 6 championships for the fourth year in a row. Sabic also helped his team to state quarterfinal appearances in 2005 and 2006. He was a three-time member of the all-metro and all-district teams in his prep career. Personal: Sabic is the son of Adam and Sedlina Sabic. He was born Oct. 4, 1988, in Zagreb, Croatia. He is majoring in international business at Missouri State. His Brother, Emedin Sabic, played soccer at California University of Pennsylvania and now is an assistant coach with the team.
