At Missouri State: With the graduation of Alex Riggs, Markos will compete for the starting role in net for the Bears this season.
2010: Markos played a vital role as the back-up goalkeeper last year. He provided competition and motivation in practice to the starting goalkeeper Alex Riggs.
2009: Markos played in his first NCAA soccer match against Bradley on Oct. 24. 2008: Markos redshirted the 2008 season.
Background: Markos came to the Bears after starting three years in net for Arrowhead High. In his senior season, Markos allowed only 12 goals and collected 12 shutouts. He also collected his second first-team all-conference and all-state honors, as well as his third regional high school championship. Markos collected 50 total shutouts and a .310 goals against average in his prep career. He was also on an Olympic Development Program team in Wisconsin.
Personal: Nikolas Andreas Markos is the son of Harry and Nancy Markos. He was born on June 15, 1990, in Milwaukee, Wis. He is an entrepreneurship major at Missouri State.
