At Missouri State: Lapira will continue to push for playing time in the Bears' lineup this season. 2009: Lapira saw limited action in four matches for the Bears. He came off the bench to play against SMU (9/27), Eastern Illinois (10/4), Oral Roberts (10/14) and Bradley (10/24). 2008: Lapira made one appearance for the Bears in 2008 coming off the bench in relief at the forward position against Howard (10/3). Background: Lapira was a four-year starter for the St. Louis Catholic Saints, earning a state title in his junior prep season. He was awarded many accolades in 2007, including first-team all-district and all-state; district offensive most valuable player; MVP of state overall and of state finals. Lapira was also named to the 2007 NFCAA/Adidas High School Boys All-Region VI Team. Personal: Michael Paul Lapira is the son of Paul and Kate Lapira. He was born on Oct. 15, 1989, in Lake Charles, La. He is an administrative management major at Missouri State.
