He is projected to continue his strong presence on the Bears' defense after starting all 22 contests last season. 2008: Hennessy was a constant force on the Bears' backline in 2008, playing and starting in all 22 matches for Missouri State mostly in defense. He totaled 11 shots from his position in the back row and scored his lone goal in a tie against Valparaiso at Plaster Field (9/19). His efforts on defense helped the Bears to scoreless ties against second-ranked Akron (9/14) to win the Nike Classic and against third-ranked Creighton (10/21). 2007: Hennessy finished fourth in scoring for the Bears in 2007, totaling eight points on three goals and two assists. Hennessy's three scores came in a two-week stretch in October when he netted goals against Eastern Illinois (10/17), Bradley (10/20) and UMKC (10/31). The defender bookended the season with assists in the first and last matches. Hennessy's 10 shots on goal ranked third on the team. 2006: Hennessy started 16 out of 19 matches and played in all but one contest for the Bears on the back line. The Kansas City, Mo., native helped the Bears' defense hold opponents to an MVC-low 15 regular season goals and played a role in the team posting seven shutouts. For the season, the Bears' defense allowed less than a goal per game, as the team posted a 0.90 goals-against average. Hennessy was the only Bear named to the all-freshman team. Background: Hennessy was a four-year starter for North Kansas City High. The 6'0" defender was a two-time All-Suburban Big Six Conference selection and was an all-district first team honoree as a senior. A team captain as a senior, he led the Hornets to runner-up conference and district finishes, received all-state and all-metro honorable mention accolades and was voted his team's defensive MVP a second time. Hennessy was also a part of the U.S. Youth Soccer Assocation Olympic Development Program and was a four-year member of the Missouri state team.
