Missouri State earns No. 1 seed for State Farm MVC Tournament
At Missouri State: With collegiate soccer experience under his belt, the talented sophomore transfer is working hard to make an immmediate impact for the Bears' defense.
Background: As a freshman at Southwestern Christian University, Frid guided the Eagles to a 20-3 overall record and a 6-0 mark at home. In his impressive freshman campaign, Frid was named a first-team All-Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference selection in addition to MCAC Defensive Player of the Year and MCAC Newcomer of the Year honors. Throughout the regular season, Frid also earned the MCAC defensive player of the week award Sept. 20, 2010 and Oct. 25, 2010 and MCAC offensive player of the week on Nov. 8, 2010. As SCU's top defender, he helped hold opponents to just nine goals in 18 games. On the offensive end, he led the Eagles in scoring with 12 goals and eight assists. Frid's team advanced to the National Christian College Athletic Association's National Championship before getting knocked out in the third round. Prior to the United States, Frid played semi-professional soccer in England for Raunds Town, Long Buckby and Cogenoe. During the 2009-10 season, Frid was voted the Player of the Season by the players on his team.
Personal: Danny Andrew Simon Frid is the son of Paul and Annette Frid. He was born on July 12, 1992. He is majoring in physical education at Missouri State.
