At Missouri State:Buckenheimer will continue to play a vital role and be a dominant figure for the Bears' midfield this season.
2010: Buckenheimer started all 18 matches at midfield for the Bears as a third-year letter winner. He recorded six shots throughout the season and a team-high four assists for the Bears against Green Bay (9/12), Louisville (9/18), Memphis (10/26), and against Evansville in the MVC conference tournament (11/10).
2009: Buckenheimer started all 19 matches at midfield for the Bears as a second-year letterwinner. He scored his first goal of the season in the Bears' 4-0 win over Centenary (La.) (9/16). He tallied the game-winning and only goal in the 1-0 win over Denver (10/1). He got assists in the SMU (9/27) and Drake (11/1) matches. His 21 shots taken were tied for fifth on the team. 2008: In his inaugural season with the Bears, Buckenheimer made an immediate impact as he finished tied for second on the team in total points with eight. He totaled 23 shots and netted three goals on the season, one apiece against Wisconsin-Milwaukee (8/31), Drake (10/11) and Eastern Illinois (11/12) in the opening round victory of the MVC Tournament. David also contributed two assists against Bradley (10/25) and Eastern Illinois (11/12).
Background: A four-year starter for the Beaver High Bobcats, Buckenheimer is the career scoring leader with 92 goals and 87 assists. He led the Bobcats in either scoring or assists all four years, twice leading in both categories. Buckenheimer was named to the all-section and all-district teams back-to-back-to-back seasons. As a senior, he added all-state and all-region accolades, becoming the first athlete in Beaver High history to do so. Buckenheimer helped the Bobcats to Section 5 Class AA Championship titles in 2005 and 2007 and runner-up finishes in 2004 and 2006.
Personal: David Paul Buckenheimer is the son of Dave and Diane Buckenheimer. He was born July 25, 1989, in Baltimore, Md. He is majoring in entertainment management at MSU.
