Bears' McBride Named Valley Golfer of the Week
Missouri State senior Jay McBride has been named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week for the third time in his career after capturing medalist honors at this week's Bob Hurley ORU Shootout in Tulsa, Okla. McBride cruised to a seven-shot victory at The Golf Club of Oklahoma after a final-round five-under-par 67 Tuesday (Sept. 29) gave him a 215 total after he opened with 75-73 the previous day. McBride's final round was a career low and marked the third-lowest 18-hole score in school history. His performance boosted the Bears to a second-place finish in the 12-team field.
