Bears Finish a Dampened Day One of Jim Colbert Invitational

Missouri State men's golf wrapped up their first round of the Jim Colbert Invitational at Kansas State University.  The tournament was scheduled to be a 3-round, 54-hole tournament, but after heavy rainfall, play has been shortened to 36-holes.

After the first round, the Bears are in sixth place, with sophomore Jordan McLaurin (Ironton, Mo.)  leading the way and tied for eleventh with a 75 in the first 18.  This is McLaurin's first competition this season.  As a team Missouri State is shooting a 315.  In their last tournament, the Bears shot a 310 in the first round and topped that mark in their second round with a 296.

The overall team leader is Kansas State, scoring 287 in the opening round.  On the individual leaderboard, Nate Barbee of Kansas is three under par with a 69.

The Jim Colbert Invitational will finish up at 8:30 a.m. in Manhattan, Kan.
