Will Hogan Opens NCAA Regional Golf Action Thursday

Missouri State junior Will Hogan will tee off at 11:40 a.m. Central time Thursday (May 19) in the first round of the NCAA Men's Golf Southwest Regional in Tucson, Ariz.

The Ozark, Mo. native, along with 14 teams and four other individuals, are slated to play 54 holes over three days, Thursday through Saturday, at the Omni Tucson National Resort.  Tee times for Friday and Saturday will be assigned after each day's play.

Hogan is part of the NCAA field that includes 81 teams and 45 individuals not on those teams who will play 54 holes at six sites. The low five teams and one individual not on those teams will advance to the finals at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla., May 31-June 5.

Hogan was picked as an at-large selection in the tournament last week after a stellar season for the Bears, which included Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year honors and a tournament title.  He is the fourth MSU men's golfer to advance to Division I post-season play, following Rolly Hurst (1991-92), Rohan Allwood (2000) and David Jenkins (2002).  The Bears' only NCAA appearance as a team came in 1993.

Tucson National has played host to numerous PGA Tour and NCAA events, and will play to a par of 71 and 7,199 yards for the tournament.

Live scoring for the tournament can be followed at http://www.golfstatresults.com/public/index.cfm?tournament_id=2607.
