April 21, 2014
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Missouri State men's golf coach Neal Stafford announced Monday (Apr. 21) the addition of Brian Rogers for the 2014-15 academic year.
Rogers will join the Bears from Trophy Club, Texas in the fall. The high school senior played his junior and senior season at Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club, after playing his first two years at Springboro High School in Ohio.
"I am really pleased that Brian will be joining our program next year," said head coach Neal Stafford. "He continues to improve each time he competes and has had some very solid events already this spring. Brian has a great understanding of the game and will be a great addition to our already strong class of freshman for next season."
Rogers is a two-time all-district and all-region selection at Nelson High and ranks as Texas' 20th (AJGA Polo Golf Rankings) and 34th (Junior Golf Scoreboard) best male high school golfer.
In his senior season, Rogers has recorded five top-10 finishes, including a tournament victory at The TJGT Galleria Dallas at The Tribute where he finished 3-under par.
Missouri State is a week away from playing in the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golf Championship in Silvis, Ill.
