Bears' Young Named Valley Golfer of the Week
Missouri State junior Daily Young has been named Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week for the second time this season. Young fired an even-par 71 Tuesday (Apr. 5) to help lead the Bears to a one-shot, come-from-behind victory at the Branson Creek Invitational. The sophomore from Springfield placed third in the tournament after posting 76-73-71--220 for this second top-10 finish of the season. He took second last fall at the Bill Ross/UMKC Intercollegiate and also was named the league's top player that week. Young is currently ranked fourth in the MVC and sports a 74.34 scoring average. He and his teammates are back in action Monday-Tuesday (Apr. 11-12) at the ASU Red Wolf Classic in Jonesboro, Ark.
