Missouri State Men's Golf Finishes First Two Rounds in Louisiana
RUSTON, La - The men's golf team finished the first two rounds of the Louisiana Tech Bulldog Classic today. The invitational features teams from across the country including University of Oklahoma, University of Kansas, University of Mississippi and Rice University.
Will Hogan led the Bears in the first day of competition with his score of +4 in the opening rounds. He is currently tied for ninth place on the leaderboard. Also competing for the Bears is Jack Courington (+10), who set a new school record for lowest round in his last time out. His 63 in the final round of the South Florida Invitational was two strokes better than the previous mark held by Todd Laney. Rounding out the Missouri State squad are Jay McBride (+11), Matt Cermak (+17) and Scott Glenn (+23).
Missouri State's team score of 617 has them tied for eight place heading into the final round of play. The last round will begin tomorrow at 8 a.m. at Squire Creek Golf Course in Louisiana. Squire Creek has been voted the number one golf course in Louisiana and one of the ten best new courses in the country by Golf Digest.
