The Missouri State men's golf team shot its second straight 299 on Monday (Mar. 12) at the Argent Financial Classic in Choudrant, La., but slipped three spots in the standings.

The Bears enter Tuesday's final round in eighth place with their 598 total, while senior Jordan McLaurin posted his second consecutive even-par 72 and also is eighth with a 144 total, just three shots off the lead.

LSU takes a six-stroke lead into the final round over host Louisiana Tech, 576 to 582. Middle Tennessee State is third with 587, followed by Jacksonville State at 592; Arkansas-Little Rock, 593; Southern Mississippi, 594; UTSA, 597; MSU, 598; and Rice, 610.

Junior Daily Young is second for the Bears and 33rd overall after shooting 73-78--151 the first two days. Sophomore Eric Straub is tied for 42nd with 76-78--154, while senior Will Hogan and sophomore Nick Langley are tied for 44th with 155 totals. Hogan has 83-72 with Langley posting 78-77. First-round leader Smylie Kaufmann of LSU still holds the lead with a 141 total.

MSU begins its final-round play Tuesday at 8:40 a.m.
