Men's Golf Looks to Move Up in Florida
 

 

 

The Missouri State men's golf team shot 296-300--596 in the first two rounds of the USF Invitational in Dade City, Fla., and is in 16th place in the 23-team field entering Sunday's (Mar. 7) final round.  Florida Southern College holds down the top spot after 36 holes after posting 288-281--569, seven-under-par at the par 72 Lake Jovita Country Club layout.  Middle Tennessee State is second with 574, while North Florida, South Alabama and Xavier are all tied for third at 575.

Sophomore Will Hogan is low for the Bears after shooting 74-73--147 and is tied for 36th.  Junior Jack Courington is tied for 53rd at 73-76--149, while senior Jay McBride shot 73-77--150 over the first 36 holes and is tied for 62nd.  Seniors Scott Glenn and Ryan Weinhaus are 79th and 90th, respectively, with 78-74--152 and 76-77--153.  The medalist race is led by Florida Southern's Matt Stauch, who's 11-under-par after shooting 68-65--133.  Eighteen players are under par entering the final round, which is slated for an 8 a.m. EST start Sunday.
