Men's Golf Slips to 11th After Second Day at South Florida
 

 

 

The Missouri State men's golf team slipped four spots to 11th place Saturday (Mar. 5) after shooting 297 in the second round of the South Florida Invitational in Dade City, Fla. The Bears opened with 291 on Friday and have a 36-hole total of 588, which ties them with Louisville for 11th in the 21-team field.

Sophomore Daily Young led MSU for the second straight day and is tied for 23rd after carding 71-73--144. Teammates Jack Courington and Jordan McLaurin are tied for 49th with 149 totals; Courington has posted 74-75 and McLaurin 73-76. Junior Will Hogan is tied for 56th with 74-76--150 and freshman Nick Langley has 72-79--151 and is 62nd. Hunter Green of Middle Tennessee State isthe leader after firing 67-67--134.

MTSU also holds a 20-shot lead in the team race with 274-277--551 compared tosecond-place North Texas and its 280-291--571. Villanova is third at 573, while Florida State and Arkansas State are tied forfourth with 574.

Sunday's final round is scheduled for a 7:30 EST start at Lake Jovita Country Club.
