Young Gives Bears Two in a Row for Top Valley Golfer

Missouri State's Daily Young has been named Missouri Valley Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, giving the Bears two straight weekly awards to start the spring season. The junior from Springfield, Mo., finished seventh Tuesday (Feb. 28) at the WSU/Snowman Getaway in Goodyear, Ariz., to pick up the award just a week after teammate Jordan McLaurin earned the same honor for his play at the Rice Intercollegiate. Young shot 72-75-69--216, even par at the par 72, 7015-yard Palm Valley Golf Club to claim his fourth MVC Golfer of the Week honor of the season dating back to last fall. He's currently ranked third in the conference with a 72.24 scoring average.
