Missouri State Finishes in Second at John Dalio Memorial

The Missouri State men’s golf team concluded the John Dalio Memorial with a 898, but was unable to secure first place at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lamont, Ill.
After an impressive opening round of 287, followed by a 310, the Bears held a lead after the opening day. The Bears finished a season best second place, after totaling 301 in the final round of competition, but lost their lead over first place finishers IUPUI in the final day.
Missouri State was the only team to have all five individual golfers place in the top 20, led by sophomore Brik Brauburger’s T-4th place individual finish. Brauburger carded rounds of 71, 76, and 77 (224), tying him with IUPUI’s Jose Pablo Segurola, Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Dan Ozga, and Valpraiso’s Joe Harris.
Senior Eric Straub added another top-10 finish to his name, finishing tied for 8th after posting 72-76-77--224.
The remaining three Missouri State golfers finished in a five-way tie for 19th place. Senior Nick Langley totaled 71-79-73—239, sophomore Joey Johnson tallied 73-81-76—230, and sophomore Mitch Mather finished with Sunday’s second-best round scoring 80-77-73—230.
Behind IUPUI (896) and Missouri State were DePaul (903), Northern Iowa (917), Seton Hall (921), Wisconsin-Green Bay (923), Loyola-Chicago (924), SIU Edwardsville (925), Valpraiso (927), Eastern Illinois (933), and Chicago State (977).
The Bears next compete in Kansas City at the UMKC Intercollegiate on October 14-15.
