ULM Final Results Get Acrobat Reader

The Missouri State men's golf team tied for sixth Tuesday (Apr. 10) at the ULM/Wallace Jones Invitational in Calhoun, La. The Bears entered the day fifth in the 11-team field after shooting 319-292 Monday, then added 315 on the final 18 holes to post a 926 total.

Senior Will Hogan was the top finisher for MSU, posting a 10th-place finish by shooting 78-73-74--225 in three trips around the Southern Pines Calvert Crossing layout. Sophomore Eric Straub shot an 82 after beginning the day in fourth place. He wound up 21st with 81-67-82--230. Junior Daily Young tied for 38th with 79-78-78--235, while senior Jordan McLaurin was 43rd at 81-74-81--236. Sophomore Nick Langley carded 88-81-83--252 to finish 60th and senior Mark Hogan, playing as an individual, posted 79-85-75--239 and placed 47th. Medalist honors went to Garrett Driver of Sam Houston State, who shot 70-72-75--217.

The team title went to host Louisiana-Monroe in a sudden-death playoff over Oklahoma City after the two tied with 887 totals. Sam Houston State was third with 894, with Stephen F. Austin fourth at 908, McNeese State fifth at 922, and the Bears and Western Kentucky tied for sixth with 926.

Then came Jackson State (930), Houston Baptist (939), Nicholls State (942) and Texas Pan-American (947).

The Bears are now idle till the State Farm/MVC Championship, Apr. 30-May 1 in Hutchinson, Kan.
